The In Thin Air Tour
We're overjoyed to announce our autumn tour featuring new music from our upcoming album In Thin Air (order here, including limited and signed special editions).
A Spell Songs tour would not be complete without our 8th band member - the visionary artist Jackie Morris! She will conjure creatures and birds from ink and watercolour and bring a captivating artistic dimension to all the shows. For our Cambridge performance Jackie will be joined by Robert Macfarlane for a pre-show talk.
Jackie will also be on stage with us at Folk by the Oak festival on Sunday 19 July. Folk by the Oak conceived of and commissioned Spell Songs so it is only fitting that music from our new album, inspired by Robert and Jackie’s latest work The Book of Birds, will be premiered and pre-released at their festival!

Join our workshops at Cambridge Corn Exchange (25 July) and Bristol Beacon (31 August) and with Choir Leader Ben See.
Each choir has the opportunity to perform before the Spell Songs concert at each venue.
Inspired by the music of Spell Songs and in anticipation of their performance at Bristol Beacon and Cambridge Corn Exchange (a Cambridge Folk Festival and Folk by the Oak event), Spell Songs Scratch Choir invite you to raise your voices to celebrate nature. Learn a beautiful new acappella arrangement of The Lost Words Blessing and weaving your voices around a new murmuration – bringing to life a meaningful mantra The Book of Birds. This project is open to all singers. You don’t need to be able to read music or sing a solo, but a little bit of experience singing in a choir or holding harmony parts is recommended.
